Bilaal’s Parent
Bilaal was very responsive during the holiday. He was able to get some motivation from his cousins.
He can read and recognize the alphabets although he still mixes letters and sounds. He writes 0 and 1 even though largely. He is not able to write 2 unassisted.
He responds to his social questions without hesitation "how are you"? "What is your name"? " How old are you" I need to prompt him by raising three fingers otherwise otherwise he answers "fine".
He enjoys stacking objects and pours water into bottles from cup at every opportunity he gets even though he makes a mess sometimes.
Bilaal has become less reserved and makes an attempt to play with children a lot. He still enjoys his games and has also increased significantly in his gaming skills.
His speech still feels forced. I sometimes intentionally ignore or annoy him wanting him to voice out what he wants or feels. He responds with some jargons "dido dido doo" or "totttiii" or sometimes he just firmly says "NO"
He has started to maintain eye contact better than before. He makes his request for what he wants sometimes "water" bina for ribena and just once and never again yet "bread". He sometimes cones to me with what he wants and says "yes" instead of "I want...."
He responds well to instructions given to him even two step commands e.g ( get my phone and put it on the table).
He can wear his shoes himself( sometimes wrongly)
Climbs the stairs continuously( not one at a time)
He tries to brush himself
He sings his rhymes with better and audible wordings
He knows me as mummy, daddy as daddy and knows his brother by name as well as he tries to call his brother name when prompted.
He knows how to wash his hands after cleaning up in the toilet. He follows the pattern- stepping on the stool, take the soap, rubbing his hands together before opening a tap and rinsing. Every time.
Bilaal has really improved even though he still needs some works as he is obviously not yet at par with his age mates. He still needs some push to initiate conversation.
We are more positive by the day.
Thank you.
